I have wanted a hemi powered '41 Willys since the early 60's, a friend located this '56 354 Industrial Hemi for me probably around '98 or so and I located a 700R4 transmission. I found someone who was willing to make the project come together. After many years and untold hours, it is almost there. A friend (Mike Brown) did most of the mechanical work including initial wiring, plumbing brake lines, disc brakes, installing the rear end, etc. A set of 8 way powered Lexus leather bucket seats were located for comfort as well as Vintage Air, Moon eye gauges and a Hurst V-matic shifter are also used. Halibrand Sprint wheels were chosen for the nostalgic look. Rick "Red" Russell of Bartlesville, OK was responsible for all body work and paint and he really did a great job, Buddy Pruitt was tasked with installing an all leather black interior.
Charlie Smith and Mike Brown are long time drag racers and have used the Chrysler Hemi's for many years, they came together and built this motor.
