Hot Rod Reunion

Every year on the third weekend in June, the Holley Hot Rod Reunion takes place in Bowling Green, KY at Beech Bend Raceway.  It is filled with vintage dragsters, hot rods, plenty of Willys gassers and hundreds of show cars, all entries must be 1972 or older.

There are plenty of pictures posted on various sites, I tend to migrate to the old Willys, some dragsters and gassers.  I have a few pictures of cars in the pits, in the show area, on the line and leaving the line. Friends Mike Brown/Ted McCord and Charlie Smith were there in competition, Charlie lost in the final round to pal Ron Ussery from Dallas, Tx.

Several "retired" race  cars always show up for display and may or may not go down the 1/4 mile track.

There is a "cacklefest" held as the grand finale on Saturday night.  The old "retired" dragsters will fire up their machines and come up the track with their push cars (most very nice) and then line up going back down the track.  With all the flames and noise, it is spectacular!
